Friend 1: I’ve seen what I’m capable of when I tunnel vision in on my goals, how much I can achieve when I want it more than anything else. so I have that higher ideal of myself to compare myself to. You’ll have days where you don’t want to do it but you’ll have to callous your mind and do it anyway giving it 95-100% every time. Eventually you’ll create this version of yourself that you didn’t know could exist.

Friend 2: i think that motivation is a sort of inspiration in a way, something that gets you out of bed in the morning!! Like a goal that you aspire to complete, etc. what gets me motivated is probably my parents, i see them getting their second degree despite being their 50s and it’s very inspiring to me.

Friend 1: i think it’s a drive to do something and move foward in it whether that’s thats dealing with chores or an assignment, i guess it comes from the feeling of needing something to change? i struggle to get motivated but i think what works most times is to incorporate things that i like doing alongside something i’ve been procrastinating to do like listening to music while cleaning or balancing an essay with colouring books

Friend 2: I think motivation is a desire to do something or multiple things such as day to day tasks. I get motivated by finding new hobbies, talking to friends and family about things Im passionate about and taking care of myself such as going to the gym and eating properly

Friend 3: I would say motivation is having drive to work towards a goal and I would say I get motivated through family and friends and just my own personal goals

Sister: Motivation is a choice, it’s not a feeling. It’s the action of choosing to get up and do no matter the circumstances. There’s a false narrative that you “get” motivated but when it’s reliant on feelings, it fades quickly. When you choose to be persistent, that’s true motivation.

I get motivated by having someone counting on me, or wanting to feel better.

friend # 2: hmm i would say motivation is having the willpower do to things with relative ease. im honestly not very good at motivating myself😭 maybe just like getting ready w makeup and an outfit motivated me like look good feel good yk

friend # 3: That is a really interesting question about motivation. I think off the top of my head that I would describe motivation as in a triangle with desire and discipline.

You need to have something that you want to accomplish, a goal, whatever it is, whether it be feeling good or getting good grades. Recognizing your desire then cultivating the discipline to do the things you need to do in order to get what you want. And motivation is in the middle of that.

You need motivation to find discipline but you also need discipline to stay
