         <description><![CDATA[<p>Marketing research</p><p>Sainsbury’s make advantage of loyalty campaigns (nectar card)- in order to track customers spending habits- in order to modify their sales strategy potentially discounting certain products or offering promotions in accordance with the data collected</p><p>Big data and databases- Sainsburys would track the data received form loyalty programs or form online sales and compile a database I order to more effectively and efficiently track specific spending habits and align their marketing strategy to tailor towards individuals</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Sustainability practices- Sainsburys have often realigned their sales strategy to fit with ongoing geopolitics for example during the 2008 financial crisis they amended their ‘try something new today’ campaign to the ‘feed your family for a fiver’ campaign as they had discovered that families where less likely to buy expensive branded products and were searching for more sustainable and cheaper alternatives</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Competitive monitoring- Sainsburys would use schemes such as the ‘Aldi price match’ in order to be more competitive in what is already an extremely competitive retail environment-</p><p>As retailers now focus on online strategy and online sales Sainsburys can use tailored software in order to ‘scrape’ prices from other retailers and compare and contrast prices</p>]]></description>
