Dear future students,

Be ready — this course is not easy. The hardest part is keeping up with the pace and the high expectations. The level feels more like C1 than B2, so don’t underestimate it. The teacher is very strict: even 11 minutes late counts as an absent, and absents will seriously affect your grade. Forget about “easy” or free points — you really have to earn everything.

The best part is that you’ll actually improve a lot if you stay consistent. Try not to fall behind — revise regularly and do all the tasks on time. That’s the only way to survive and succeed.

Most memorable classes were the ones where we had active discussions — challenging but interesting.

I’d recommend this course to students who are disciplined and ready to work hard.

Good luck — you’ll need it.

This year and two semesters I studied Basic Foreign Language with Mr Miras. I am glad that I chose the right teacher. Because this year I learnt a lot, also new words, grammar and improved my listening, reading and speaking skills. I noticed a big improvement in my writing skill, because I learnt to write argumentative essay and literature review. In addition, all the lessons were so fun and interesting. I will miss our kahoot games and group discussions.

What about other lessons, I am really happy that other teachers and lessons were also amazing. I will remember deep discussion on philosophy lesson, and interesting conversations on mspz lessons. I can surely say that my first year in this university was really cool!

If you chose this teacher, you definitely made the right decision. He is a true professional, and thanks to him, this course will be much easier to pass. He is very understanding and supportive toward students, always willing to help, and explains everything in a clear and simple way. He is also always open to communication.

I would especially like to highlight the atmosphere in his classes. There are a lot of speaking activities, which makes the learning process not only useful but also very relaxed. You don’t feel pressure—instead, you gradually become more confident in speaking. The material is always interesting, and the way it is presented keeps you engaged.

As for advice: try to do everything on time and don’t be afraid to ask questions. This is really important. Don’t think that the teacher will be strict with you—on the contrary, he is always on your side and ready to help, as I mentioned before.

Miras Zeiinolla is not only a great specialist but also a genuinely kind and warm person. You can see how much effort he puts into every class. You will never see him in a bad mood—he is always positive, supportive, and truly values each of his students.

I am very grateful to him and really glad that I chose this teacher. What stands out the most is his sincerity and dedication to both his work and his students—this is something you don’t see very often.

From me, I would add: teachers like him are rare. He is truly someone who is meant to do this job, and you can feel that he loves what he does. Because of people like him, learning becomes something you enjoy rather than something you have to do.

And yes, maybe it’s not a coincidence—people from East Kazakhstan really do have a special warmth ☺️

Good luck with the course—you are in very good hands.

Literature review was the hardest part and I advise you to start writing earlier. I liked our lessons, the format, the explanation. Miras and I’m really grateful for all the knowledge that you gave us and all the effort and time you spent.

Thank you, mr Miras. You’re the best teacher!!!

Dear 1st year students!

You are very lucky to have such a great lecturer for this discipline! I wish you all the best in your studies. Get as much information as you possible.

For me, this discipline was a new thing in second semester, because I didn’t have it in my first semester. I can say that before the semester started, I was really nervous and scared. However, you don’t have to be afraid, since Mr. Miras is a very kind, intelligent and fair lecturer when it comes to grading. The best part of this course was that I found some good friends and gained some fantastic knowledge.

The most effective way to keep up with this course (and every other course as well) is to study consistently and thoroughly.

I can totally say that the most memorable class was when we were preparing for our first midterm!

I would recommend taking this course, If you wanna improve your English language, your vocabulary, writing skills and speaking.

“It’s the teacher that makes the difference, not the classroom” this quote is genuinely about Mr. Miras, because before I took this discipline, many second-year year students told me to choose him, and I do not regret that decision.

Alua R. 29.04.2026

I think the hardest parts for me were the midterms and attendance. Before the exams, you have to revise everything you’ve learned, which can be quite challenging. Attendance was also difficult for me because the classes were scheduled quite early.

The best part was learning different vocabulary from various fields, as it helped me expand my knowledge in areas like finance and politics.

I enjoyed the interactive lessons the most, especially the ones where we worked in groups.

The most effective way to keep up with the course is time management.

The most important thing for me to advise you, is that write every part of the lesson, because when you will take your midterm tests it will be very helpful for you to prepare, Mr. Miras is one of the best lecturers i've ever had, and incredibly knowledgeable. Write as much as you can, listen as much as its possible, and get the information from him, do not shy to ask him about anything, bc he is definitely will not judge you, instead he will try to help you out. Please save your absences bc it will help you to rest in the end of semester when you will struggle with finals. I didn't lost my absences, but still.. good luck! You've done a great choice about Mr. Miras🩵🩵

Dear freshmans, this is a message from the past, the survived one. The course is actually very funny and interesting, when you actively participate in class. Don’t be afraid of expressing your opinion, you’ll regret being quiet. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes on midterms and finals, they are just test. Mr. Miras is a great teacher, who always helps students, teaches very useful things in an interesting manner. My advice to you guys is just to avoid multitasking and do everything in time, and then you will succeed.

You are very lucky person if you got a place in this discipline at Mr. Miras. My advice to this course is just to study. This is an easy and interesting course if you try. I liked the teacher's approach. Most memorable class was when we played Uni Quiz. No one advised me to take in this course him. I just stumbled upon it by accident.

He always has interesting ideas for the classes and I really enjoyed to learn things from him. The most memorable class was when we played uniquiz with him and it was really funny. I think this course doesn’t have hard parts, you just need to study by yourself.

I would recommend his courses for everyone cause he’s the best :)

the best part was the lectures itself, they were always interesting and i actually had a lot of things to learn about

the most effective way to keep up with the course is to learn vocabulary from presentations to prepare for the mid-term tests (always come across incomprehensible words) and try to manage your time so that you don’t have to write an essay the day before deadline also look at the criteria to know what to rely on and what points will be awarded for.

Mr. Miras is a very good teacher and if anything bothers you, you can always ask him.

If you choose as a lecturer Mister Miras u probably won this life. The hardest part for me was only to prepare for our midterms , but, even without this I could remember words, the grammar that we had to learn, because of really interesting classes. The best part is classes, I really even didn’t tried to just skip classes, this was really funny, informative, I improved my speaking skills. The memorable class was the last one at first semester, we played a games with groups, and my group won actually. I recommend to take this course for people who really wants to study, and understand how to study with interest.

I have never met a person who cares so much about his students and truly loves his job. I really hope I will never forget how the teacher tried to teach us everything he knew.

I wouldn't recommend this teacher to anyone because the registration process is complete chaos, and I'd rather keep a spot in his classes for myself in the future.

Id fight everyone just to choose him

That's

exactly how it was in the first and second semesters when Platonus was glitching, I was literally about to cry

I am very grateful to the teacher for his course and teaching, and I truly learned a lot.

Dear Next Students

It was the best lessons of this course. And I think easier. Sooo, my opinion.

The most hardest part of this course is that Literature Review. You must look for references, write plan and strong arguments. But for me and my team's partner it was easy.

The best part of this course was a poster presentation. It was a little bit funny. When you presented your presentation you must formulate strong points and find numbers of charts.

I think that teacher makes this lessons more interesting, amazing and exciting.

Remember you must prepare for your best marks

Mr. Miras classes was really interesting, but I couldn’t take my eyes opened. (Mr. Miras, if read this message, I am so sorry 😭)

Good luck, dear freshman 🫰🏻

Best regards,

Zhussupbekova Tomiris

For me the hardest part of the course was to get used to the pace because in school we didn’t really study a lot and only after taking my Grammar in Use course I realized what hard work is actually. The best part for me was learning so much things and not getting exhausted, I enjoyed becoming smarter so much and I really hope that y’all will do the same. Eat healthy food, sleep well and don’t stress much about your future — everything will work out eventually if you are into what you’re passionate about. The most memorable class for me was when we were practicing APA style to write literature review that seemed so scary for us when we just heard about it. The best part about that day was when we were given an opportunity to choose whose citation do we want to add. And I added Olivia Rodrigo’s words from an interview back in 2021 when her saddest song was breaking all records. Her effort and care for her fans really helped me and I’m so grateful that I could share my thoughts with everyone ♡
