My 3 Takeaways: 1. It lets students comment anonymously. 2. Parlay is a fun way to encourage respectful discussions with each other. 3. Another great feature is other media and links can be added easily to it. 
Questions: 1. Is there a way to approve comments before students see them? 
2. Will students want to actively engage in the discussions?
3. How does this compare to edpuzzle or other similar platforms?
Action: I think this would be a great way to implement number talks in the classroom. The anonymity helps students feel more comfortable having discussions especially those students that are extremely shy. We forget how easy math can be because we know the language. Not everyone has that luxury. 2. In order to help ELL students participate in ELA discussions, you can use purposeful sentence starters. 3. You have to provide lots of examples, realia, and opportunities to write. Encourage them to make mistakes because that is how we learn. 
Questions: 1. What are some ways to help my ELL families be more comfortable communicating with me? 2. What are the most important cultural differences to keep in mind?
Action: I can display sentence starters around the room for all my students to use. It may encourage my ELL students to speak up more in class. I can also send out a survey to parents to find out their preferred method of communication. I want them to be comfortable contacting me at any time.

I want students who feel different to have someone they can come to for help. I love helping the more difficult to handle students. Students need someone to believe in them and help them believe in themselves. I started teaching so that I could make a difference by helping students who feel lost, invisible, dumb, and alone.
