It went well this morning, students were excited to see their classmates.
Challenges are: Jack needs a translator, he responded to my questions but seemed not doing the task I asked him to do. I talked to his father but he could not understand me as well. I used the chat box and seemed to help me communicate somehow.
Another challenge was the slowing down of the internet or maybe my computer? I encountered no presentation while I was still presenting in google meet.
Some students did not join due to confusion of schedule.
Finally, I got confused using chrome extension (web paint) with them, I was supposed to use Seesaw. - I will write the apps to use for LS so I won't be confused next time. <3

Day 1: a) What went well today? Almost all of my students was able to log-in into their Google Classroom and Meet, except for one student that I need to contact using Hangout to inform him about our short meeting. Internet connection was good, video and conversation was clear.
b) What were the challenges? Attending to two Video calls in teaching my multilevel classes in Lower School.
c) What could be done to address these challenges? Time management within the block. Orient students more about the virtual class rules.

Grade 4 LA, Math, SS

It was great to see the students. They were engaged the whole time. We were able to sign up in the different sites that we will use.

The only challenge was the power interruption for one of the student.

To address situations like a power interruption is to record the meeting.

I had 100% attendance. It was great to see Josh. We both had a good time getting to know each other.

Staying focused and not going on a tangent.

Plan every minute of instruction and add frequent brain breaks to keep Josh focused on learning.

Update:
Since I had Josh for three blocks yesterday and three blocks today, I started teaching. I presented an introduction to Zones of Regulation (SEL) and an overview of Social Studies, Math, and LA. I also introduced the Brain Break app I'm using to provide Josh with movement/breaks every 20 minutes or so.

Esther and Kiara showed up with a lot of stories to tell. They think today's meeting was too short :)

Maroj, Zion, and Julian were present. Although Maroj's connection was unclear, it's understandable because they had power interruption in their area.

Went well. Kids were well behaved. Only had 1 brownout. There were some technical issues but were easily remedied.

It felt like the class had a lot of excitement in the air or maybe that's just me. :)

Another great day, today. The boys were all on time for their classes. No brownout, yey!

We just need to check Julian's account in RAZ Kids as he was not able to log in to his account.

Some kids were a little late but...It usually takes me a day to just teaching logging in and logging out of google. They were able to do that with all the website links, navigate google classroom and post an activity on seesaw. I also heard my own voice...did not like that at all :/ Overall a VERY successful day.

We had a great time. I had one student missing yesterday, then two were not able to make it today. There were no technical issues and everything went smoothly. What I do have is a moderate communication problem with a Chinese student and his parents. We had some mixed google translation today. Some instructions were understood but a couple were not. I will continue to use the translator app and hopefully we can understand each other better soon.

2&3 PE

All present except for Olivia. Emma was able to join us.
k&1 PE, The two Kinder girls were there, but Skye, Matthew and the new student(no email address yet) were absent.
4&5 PE -The grade 4 boys were there but Josh was absent. One of them had a problem locating the meet link.
The google meet link needs to be accessed through google classroom.

Kinder Day 1 and 2

The tech trial went well. On both days, the girls were on track with regards to the classes and were on time for most of the time in Day 2.

Day 1 was good in terms of connectivity and socialization but Day 2 was even better.

For the next weeks, we will work on mastery of getting on and of Google Meet and Hangout chat as our routine would involve call/net/screen breaks within the block.
