While the link is subtle, it was well thought through, because I had strong colours in the music video, like neon blue, purple and pink. I decided to dilute these colours in order to create a softer verion of what i portrayed inmy music video. Not only did this fit with the grey tone that you see in the first verse, but it also corresponds with the concept of the music video. That women are independent and able to have strong sides and soft sides and that sensitivity does not undermine their power. That is why I decided to ude softer colours in my digipak.

It allows a product to be promoted on many different platforms. it is successful because a quality media text paired with a mainstream brand will draw in the consumers of that brand, because they'd think that beacuse their favourite brand is promoting something, then it must be good.
A good example of synergy would be Lego Marvel partnering up with McDonald's to sell mini Lego Superhero toys with each Happy Meal. While this may have been to support a film/video game, synergy is also important when it comes to promoting music videos. When an artist releases a new album, it usually comes in a promotion package with consists of a music video for one or more of their songs, a magazine advert and a digipak.

However it may not resonate with all females as not all females ee them selves as subtle and elegant, but, that is+ where representation comes in. Not a lot of women of colour are represented as strong, powerful and beautiful, so to see images like this in magazine adverts can be very inspiring for women of colour and women of other backgrounds.

For example on my digipak I used a certain font for the words ‘Destiny’s Child’ and a different font for the word ‘Independent’, yet on the actual CD I flipped these and used the opposite font, this subtle attention to detail allows the viewer to see something different yet it still corresponds with the rest of the piece.]]> 2018-05-05 05:40:36 UTC https://padlet.com/livlesley/1en80inwfp34/wish/258194761
