Free College Course for Dual Enrollment High School Students.

• High School students will need to fill out Dual High School Enrollment Form.

• Apply to Mission College

• Students are welcome to visit our Chinese Portfolio to learn more information.

• Students with prior learning experience can read Prerequisites Information and fill out “Prerequisite Clearance/Challenge Form” to “Clear Prerequisites with Prior Learning.”

• Students with prior learning experience can also email me their transcripts and they will email Mission College’s admission office with their transcripts to waive the prerequisite for Chinese 1 and they can take Chinese 2. 

• If the students did not have transcripts for the Chinese courses they took before, they can email me some samples to demonstrate their Chinese language proficiency for assessment.

• Students below the 10th grade to participate in the Dual Enrollment Program can schedule a meeting with Connor Keese,  (connor.keese@missioncollege.edu) to request an exception to participate in the Dual Enrollment program at Mission College.

Students can take the course with a letter grade, pass/no pass option, or credit by exam.

Here are the steps to apply to Mission College.

• Create an account and apply to Mission College through CCC Apply.

• Wait for an email from Mission College with instructions on how to access the Mission Portal using your WVM username/email. This email should arrive within 24 hours after applying to the College.

• Once you have completed step 3, the admission office will clear the prerequisite for Chinese 1 if you are eligible to take Chinese 2.

• Register for classes through the Mission Portal.

• Email yen-ping.mao@wvm.edu with your name, school ID, and background in learning Chinese if you have any questions.

Mission College offers a variety of scholarships per year. Eligibility may vary based on fields of study, community and/or college involvement, and/or financial need.
