When discussing the topic of Neurodivergence within the black community, their experience in school had grew my interest. I wanted to know how they were treated, did it differ from other neurodivergent people and if so how so? 

The purpose of At First glance is to allow us to read pass the front cover, and allow our selves to read the body of the novel. Everyone has their own individual story to tell and some might relate to that story. So At First Glance allows you to look at the experience of black children with autism inside of school, three of the artifacts are from the first hand accounts and the last two artifacts are stories cited in a news articles. Their experiences are now shared, and we can see past the front cover but the lack of representation is also explored in this exhibit.
