Agency and action are two key elements of the learning process. When students elaborate some kind of project for their learning process, they are exercising their action. However, when they choose how to do it, or when, they are using agency.

Both of them complement and are connected to each other. Without the agency of every individual, the collective action would not be possible.

There are so many ways in which teachers can support and encourage action.

For example, they can analyze different types of actions with the students by giving them examples of those ones. Verbalizing and giving praise about the action that the student has done.

Teachers can also promote the actions in different social surroundings. Reflect with the students about a past action and evaluate the choices that the students made.
Consequently, they can think and be aware of the impact that that action has had on society.

Facilitate experiences such as volunteering in their local communities so that they are able to discover their needs and think of the best way to satisfy them.

Getting a group of students together to discuss different actions that they could take to solve a difficulty. This helps them open their mind and be more creative by listening to others' ideas.

Finally, as teachers feedback and positive reinforcement is crucial to support and encourage action.
