In my discipline the importance of people from different cultures, backgrounds and nationalities interacting in a positive manner is highly important to breaking down fear regimes and bringing people together, and I see my role in the event to tackle this concept of harmony, acceptance and togetherness despite different backgrounds. 

Closing Ceremony
Incorporates both the culture and the nations practicing the culture. Through this we could showcase various art forms, traditional music, and dances. This will have the benefits of again narrowing in on our celebration and unity aims, to help bring people together.

Best way to target this is to promote our art activities, any guest speakers, and entertainment aspects that would appeal to the general public to encourage them to come down and learn more about the culture.

Perhaps these small creative corners could be set under stalls. Working with Propel Arts earlier this year, I set up a stall to sell my artworks. Attracting people to these stalls is very important, we need to make people feel welcome but mostly enjoy themselves. With background experience working within market stalls, decorating is an important factor in appealing audiences. Both the event and stalls could be decorated with prints of Islamic designs. Such as table cloths, stall backdrops and hanging decorations. In the case of colour palette, anything that is coloured brightly is what we want. More colour brings more life and playfulness, and that’s what we want the event to be about.
