Everyone loves music in their own way. Whether they just listen to it, sing it, play it, or make it, we all have a way of expressing our passion for the art. But then the "extremes" are those who have every record of a specific loved artist. "Another way of becoming a shareholder in a piece of music is by singing it.....And another is by trying to own all of it, on recordings. Then you are a different kind of shareholder--a proprietary kind." (Ratliff pg 111). His music spoke to everyone and everyone enjoyed it. People collect and enjoy his records because they mean something to them. Since his passing, people feel as though his records mean more or are "worth" more.
