Killer Mike if you don't already know is a Grammy nominated rapper.

In June 2015, Killer Mike briefly ran as a write-in candidate to become the representative for Georgia's 55th district in the Georgia House of Representatives. Despite encouraging voters to write in his real name, Michael Render, any votes he received would not have been considered valid due to his failure to previously register as an official candidate in the election. He said his purpose in running was to raise awareness of the special election, and to demonstrate that political outsiders can and should run against established politicians.

"I'm appalled that regular Americans are apathetic. I'm appalled that people choose to use the word "thug" as a code word for "nigger". I'm appalled at everyday citizens... when will we, as an American constituency, tell our politicians enough's enough? Enough mayors supporting murderous police departments. Enough police chiefs having to give excuses for murderous police officers".

Meek Mill

Meek Mill founded and is the co-owner of the organization called Reform, which helps free people from what he sees is a broken justice system. He himself was caught up in the system after being released from jail on probation, and going back within the first six months of his release on probation. He helps the people who have wrongly been convicted of a crime and the people who are caught in the biased proportions of justice. Jay-Z, who is also part of this organization, said that the justice system targets people of color and he and everybody in Reform is trying to change that. Without the unconditional support of everybody working to free people, the people in the system wouldn’t have hope, and I wish someday that people stuck in the system will be more quickly recognized that they are in it than right now.

Lebron James

After doing my research on social justice heroes, I have come across Lebron James. Lebron James is a professional basketball player in the NBA. He helped his Ohio community that he grew up in by building a school for at- risk students to attend to free. James also made a foundation call The Lebron James Family Foundation. There they will raise money to make the school better. One of James’ quotes states 'The jitters before the first day of school are real right now!!! Tomorrow is going to be one of the greatest moments (if not the greatest) of my life when we open the I PROMISE School. This skinny kid from Akron who missed 83 days of school in the 4th grade had big dreams.'' This quote is about how Lebron James missed 83 day of school in fourth grade. He turned himself around and made a school where students won’t have to be like he was and they can attend every day of school without a problem.
