The stock market crash was significant because it impacted the rest of history, including the 1930's (the Great Depression). The crash happened on October 29th, 1929, and is the biggest factor to why the Great Depression happened. In the text, Stock market crash of 1929, it says, "As such, it is often pointed to as a watershed moment in U.S. history, since the social, political, and economic changes sparked by the Great Depression ostensibly would not have happened were it not for the crash of 1929." This tells us that the crash was an important time in history, for if it were not to happen, then we would never have the Great Depression. In summary, the stock market crash was significant because it marked the start of an impactful time, the Great Depression.

A human right that was denied during and after this happened was the right to social security. The right to social security is to always be in a stable situation with housing, food, education, healthcare, etc. This right was denied because as a result of the crash, people were financially unstable and didn't live comfortably, which is part of the right to social security. It says in Stock Mart Crash: 1929 "By 1933, nearly half of America’s banks had failed, and unemployment was approaching 15 million people, or 30 percent of the U.S. workforce." This tells us they were denied work, which is a part of human rights.

During this time period, people were in chaos because of the sudden change in the economy from the Roaring Twenties. I think this is because of the Stock Market Crash: 1929, "During the 1920s, the U.S. stock market underwent rapid expansion, reaching its peak in August 1929 after a period of wild speculation in the Roaring Twenties. By then, production had already declined and unemployment had risen, leaving stocks in great excess of their real value." It also says on Black Thursday 1929, What Happened, and What Caused It "Black Thursday marked the day the Roaring 20s stock market bubble finally burst. This event ended a decade of rapid expansion of the U.S. stock market branded by wild speculation. At this point, stocks of companies were valued way over their actual worth in the face of declining production, low employment, and large debts." These quotes tell me about how production had reached its highest in the Roaring Twenties, but suddenly went down hill. I expect that this would be sudden and shocking for the population, causing chaos. In summary people during this time period, even though it was short, were shocked that their prosperous lives would come to an end.

The stock market crash affected the people of the world by making not only its economy, but social political and lifestyle change significantly. It caused many to live on the streets and have no security. I know this because in in the Stock market crash of 1929, it says, "...the events of September and October of 1929 have become legendary as being the cause of the Great Depression. As such, it is often pointed to as a watershed moment in U.S. history, since the social, political, and economic changes sparked by the Great Depression ostensibly would not have happened were it not for the crash of 1929." This tells me that it caused the Great Depression, a well known piece of history today. In summary, the stock market crash affected the people the world in terms of economy, social, and lifestyle.

The people most responsible for the crash were brokers and independent buyers(investors). The crash were caused by almost all, but they were the main people who caused it. In Stock market crash of 1929, it says, "Investors and brokers soon developed questionable payment strategies in order to afford stocks at prices of $300 to $400 per share at a time when the average American was earning only $1,425 annually. Many investors cooperated in investment pools in their hometowns. More troublesome, though, was the practice of margin buying." This tells me that investors and brokers did margin buying, which is in short, buying stocks using a loan (more explained in the vocabulary section). This mainly caused the stock market crash, impacting it by making the economy worse. In summary, I think independent buyers and stockbrokers impacted the most due to their strategy, margin buying.
