Black Bass

Black Bass can be caught in all waters except Belmont Lake, Artist Lake, Blydenburgh Lake and Randall Pond.

Fishermen at Blydenburgh Lake can fish during the two open seasons. The first open is the first Saturday in June through Nov. 30. The second, Dec. 1 through the Friday before the first Saturday in June, is on a catch-and-release basis.

Minimum length: 12 inches

Daily limit: 5

Fishermen at Artist Lake, Belmont Lake and Randall Pond can be caught all year on a catch-and-release basis.

Fishermen at all other waters can fish during the two open seasons. The first open is the first Saturday in June through Nov. 30. The second, Dec. 1 through April 30, is on a catch-and-release basis.

Daily limit: 5

It is illegal to fish for bass during the period May 1 through Friday preceding the first Saturday in June.

Walleye

Walleye can be caught during the open season -- from the first Saturday in May through March 15 -- at Fort Pond and Lake Ronkonkoma.

Trout

Trout can be caught in all freshwater, non-tidal lakes and ponds except East Swan Lake, Laurel Lake, Deep Pond and Connetquot and Caleb Smith State Parks all year round, at any size. The daily limit is 3.

Fishermen at East Swan Lake can catch trout from April 1 through Nov. 30.

Fishermen at Laurel Lake and Deep Pond can catch trout all year.

Fishermen are required to have a permit with Park Regulations at Connetquot and Caleb Smith State Parks.

Chain Pickerel
