The weather finally cleared on the morning of June 5th. That night, allied paratroopers were dropped behind enemy lines, tasked with sabotaging the German's communications. Then, when the morning came, the Americans, British, and Canadians landed in Normandy. The task was rough, needed to break through the rough, murderous Pacific wall. The Germans decided that in order to turn the tide of war, they do the same things again. The smashed into the allied lines, pushing them back. They ended up trapping a small allied, mostly American force in the bulge. The Nazi's sent a letter to the troops demanding their surrender. After recieving the demand, the general trapped in the region replied with "nuts!" and yes, that was their offical reply. The vast majority being jews but including many others. On July 16th, 1945, the first successful nuclear bomb test had taken place. The allies sent a warning to the Japanese, no one even being able to understand the event about to take place. When the Japanese denied surrender, on August 6th, the first nuclear bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. The Japanese still didn't surrender. Then on August 9th, the second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki.
