I hadn't really thought of the parallels between their character before. The fact that they carry a burden, are sacrificed/almost sacrificed by their father, raised with the power of God (from dead/from altar), etc. There is also the ram in the story of Isaac that can be seen as Jesus as well. I thought this was interesting due to the foreshadowing it contained. With the Ark in the Old Testament being draped in a blue veil, it foreshadows Mary, the new Ark, who is normally depicted wearing a blue veil.
