Martin goes through ten different caterpillars and shows the students what each of them do, but also in the end he provides information about each one.

Because of the information at the end, students can reference throughout the book, and after the lesson, what the scientific name of each caterpillar is. This is a great lesson for the kids in science, because it shows them that even though a caterpillar is one bug, there are many different kinds. This lesson can be applied in many ways!

It can show students that although many animals are different, many have a few characteristics in common. The lesson can even be branched out to themselves; everyone in the room has something in common, but they are all uniquely special.

In the book, the main character's family was Russian, and they passed down a quilt throughout their generation, adding to it as it went town the family line. This could be turned into a show and tell activity where the students can each bring an item to class, to talk about their culture and family.

Each morning, the father wakes the boy up, and they go fishing for their food before the sun comes up. Whatever they catch, is whatever their family can eat for the day. The boy and his father have conversations about many things and usually there are different types of people at the pond, but they were alone one day, and talked more. Throughout the book, we are able to see the hardships, and the type of place they live in.

This book is a great book to read for a science lesson, when talking about animals are, more specifically, mammals. It is a great book to read and discuss, because it explains what mammals are, how they look like, and so on. From here, the students can take their new understandings of mammals, and go on from there to teach about reptiles and then the differences in between the two.

This book is about the differences and similarities about everyone. It is a wonderfully put together story about children going to the fair, and all the types of people they see and meet. Some people have different noses, and some wear glasses. Some people have brown hair, and some people have black hair. The differences and similarities continue until the end of the book, ending with a wonderful sentence: "What's so amazing, is that no matter who you are, or how you look, or where you live-there is still only one of you!"

Although each student is very similar, they are also very different! Not only is he excited about the seeing the snow, but playing with it. The little boy goes outside to play, has many adventures, and comes back inside to tell his mother. After telling his mother, he realizes that he is sad because ehe has to go back inside and say goodbye to the snow. However, the next morning he wakes up to find a new fresh batch of snow waiting for him to come outside and play.

The little boy in the book was excited to try something new, and shows what a marvelous time he had playing in the snow.
Another teaching point, is that at the end, the little boy was sad that after all his fun and hard work that he did outside, such as the snow angels, he had another chance to play outside the next day. Although he had lost his work from the previous day, he was happy that there was snow, and simply went outside once more to play in the fluffy white snow.
