"There had been nothing in between. Here, she found, everything had nuance; everything had an unrevealed side or un-explored depths. Everything was worth looking at more closely." (Ng 207) This text explains how Mia being with Pauline opened up a whole new perspective on the way she viewed things such as art and more. This may have influenced Mia's artistic creativity that we see later in the book, which is one of her defining traits.

Warren who is Mia's brother has a impact on Mia because her actions show that she loves him very much and would be there for him at all times when needed. "When he cried, Mia lay next to him in the center of their parents' bed, blankets heaped around them in a chenille nest, singing him songs and patting his cheek until he dozed" (Ng 188).

Mia's brother, Warren, had an impact on Mia's decisions by giving his input/opinion "'Mia,' he'd said and she knew he was serious because he never used her full name. 'I can't believe you would do something like this'" (Ng 224).

Mr. Wilkinson has the most impact on Mia because when her parents said that her interests were lame and she shouldn't do it, he was there and gave many advice on how to work the camera and even gave her one. The text states "I'm not using that one anymore. Someone might as well. He removed a canister of film and gave it to Mia... Mr. Wilkinson taught her how to extract the film from its roll and develop it" (Ng 193). Mr. Wilkinson was the one to deepen her passion for photography and didn't let her give it up.

Mr. and Mrs. Wright had a huge impact on Mia as far as her decisions, actions, and personality. Like in chapter 14 her parents didn't really support her art " this art thing is a waste of time". They were disappointed in her. And they certainly wouldn't pay for it." "I thought we raised you to be smarter''. (Ng 197) And because of this it impacted her actions and decisions like carrying a baby for the Ryans for the money to pay for the school she was going to for art. "She was leaving an obstetrician with a letter certifying her good health, her freedom from contagious, and her properly configured anatomy."(Ng 220) to carry the Ryans child.

I feel like Mia's parents have the most impact on her because they were never really supportive of her choice of making art with photos so she had found ways on her own. She got accepted to a school that was going to pay her tuition but after a year they couldn't pay it anymore and she got an opportunity to get money so she used it and that's when everything changed."I told her, I didn't care how nice these Ryan people were, I didn't approve of it. I didn't think it was right to sell your own child...She thought she could just give it up and go on with her life. Like nothing happened. I had two children, you know I knew what i was talking about, even before we lost Warren. "(Ng 185)

Mr. Wilkerson had the most impact on Mia's life because he introduced her and helped her learn more about photography. Mr. Wilkerson gave tips and advice to Mia that she would learn to use later on in life. The text says, "You--you want to take real pictures. In a moment he returned and held out a compact box. "you need a real camera not a toy"(Ng 192). Mr.Wilkerson gave Mia a better camera so that she could continue to pursue her dreams and love for photography.
