Eating disorders are issues that influence a person's eating habits as well as their attitudes and feelings around food.

There are different kinds of these disorders and they vary depending on what they do to ones body and health. There is binge eating, anorexia, bulimia and AFRID ( avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder).
These are the definitions of these disorders:
BINGE EATING - these types of people tend to overeat and feel unable to resist eating excessive amounts even if they are not hungry, binge eaters may feel unhappy or guilty. People who suffer from binge eating tend to eat alone so that others won't see how much food they consume.

ANOREXIA - These people purposefully consume extremely little foods, resulting in a very low body weight. They have a strong apprehension about gaining weight and becoming overweight and they have skewed body image and perceive oneself to be overweight while being very skinny.

BULIMIA- people who suffer from bulimia tend to consume a wholesome of food and are unable to stop. They undertake activities to compensate for their overeating , such as forcing themselves to vomit purposefully, employ laxatives, tablets, fasting and lots of exercise.
AFRID- usually these types of people are not interested in food or avoid eating it. AFRID patients usually do not eat because of the smell, texture, taste or the colour of the food turns them off. They are always concerned about choking or vomiting food however, they are not suffering from anorexia, bulimia, or any other medical condition that might explain their eating habits.

POSSIBLE WAYS TO TRY AND AVOID THESE DISORDERS ACCORDING TO WikiHow.com.
You can try building healthy eating habits by setting a good example by eating well, try following the healthy eating food pyramid and avoiding making negative or shaming comments about food and eating.

QUESTION:
Do you believe that these eating disorders are caused by mental health problems (anxiety and/or depression) or do you believe that they come from the comments that people get about their body weight ?
