As noted in the handbook, a mentor will be assigned to guide you through the practicum and provide general guidance related to school libraries. Recommended Course Sequence

If you plan to complete the program in three semesters, the following course sequence is recommended. If you would like to space things out and complete the program over a longer period of time, you are welcome to do so; the university requires that graduate degrees be completed within a period of 6 years.

1st Semester: EDCI 522: Information Literacy Instruction, EDCI 547: Inquiry Based Learning, and EDCI 598-801: Internship / Practicum Section 801

2nd semester: EDCI 550: Ethics & Advocacy, EDCI 546: Administration of the School Library, and EDCI 598-802: Internship / Practicum Section 802

3rd semester: EDCI 549: Reading Promotion, EDCI 548: Collection Development, and EDCI 598-803: Internship / Practicum Section 803

NOTE: Section 802 and 803 of the internship courses can be taken in either order. Section 802 requires direct student instruction and assessment and collaboration with another educator, so plan accordingly.
