The improvements I witnessed in many of the pupils' reading ability was truly visible and so rewarding. The children would share their stories with me and be delighted when they moved up a stage in their reading scheme. I encouraged them to use silly voices and they really showed me their personalities. I will miss the bond I feel that was created visiting them weekly. Making a difference to such a significant and vital aspect of their learning and education was very enriching.
 Furthermore from September to December I coached an under 8 girls' hockey team every Tuesday evening this was so exciting seeing the girls in the beginning grassroot stages, just learning the importance of team sport and communication. A sport which is such a big part of my life today. 
 Moreover on Tuesday mornings from September to July I was part of the Big sister little sister scheme at Northampton High School, this is a scheme to bridge the gap between the year 12 pupils and the year 7 pupils by nurturing their confidence and making them feel comfortable in their first year, listening to any complaints or often friendship issues!]]> 2018-07-09 13:36:32 UTC https://padlet.com/f_musson/1dk32zxbgdxu/wish/269740483 f_musson https://padlet.com/f_musson/1dk32zxbgdxu/wish/269742810 For our local charity we chose Northampton Hope Centre, a non-profit organisation which tackles poverty and homelessness. Helping people help themselves as well as practical support and services. These sweets were wrapped in "brown paper packages tied up with string," lyrics from the musical's song 'My favourite things.' We sold the programmes for £3 each and the Sweets for £1 per bag. Due to our generous donation from the University of Northampton we had start up capital of £33, (£100 split between three groups!) we then went to Booker and spent £55 on materials and products for our sale. It was a great success selling at the front of house, welcoming the guests, selling again in the interval and then to the year 6s with our left over stock. In total we raised £319 not including over £25 in the unopened collection boxes.
