The white tiger has been considered Korea's guardian animal for a long time. Sooho means the protection in Korea, and symbolises the protection offered to athletes, spectators, and other participants of the 2018 Winter Games. Rang comes from the middle letter of " Ho-rang-i", also the last letter of the Korean word for tiger, " Jeong-seon A-ri-rang",a treasured traditional folk song of Gangwon Province, where the games are held.

My favorite mascot is 2012 Wenlock because I like how his metallic look was because he was made from one of the last drops of steel used to build the Olympic Stadium in London. The light on his head is based on those found on those found on London's famous black cabs. I also like how the shape of his forehead is identical to the roof of the Olympic Stadium roof. I think it is cool how Wenlock's eyes are the lens of a camera, and he films everything he sees. Wenlock wears five bracelets in the color of the Olympic Rings. I like how Wenlock has three points on his head that represent the three places on the podium for the medal winners.
