In Wes Moores speech he talked about his friends helping people and being selfless. He talks about how we do kind things for people because at the end of the day, its just for people to tell us we did a good job. I think, in his speech, Elie had a sad tone throughout most of the speech, but gave and uplifting tone of hope at the end, ending with “But nevertheless, I believe, he said, there is more in any human being to celebrate than to  denigrate. He talked about his friends helping out other people and doing selfless actions. “Cara. Joe. Dale. John. All of you. You fight for “the others.” You fight to make sure that all  people understand that they are a part of this conversation and they are a part of our  equation … and, frankly, that is all you’re ever asked to do”(Moore).In this quote Moore is talking about how at some point in life we do things for others, that we aren’t asked to do.

And I felt like the  prophet Elijah, when I sat down in private to do what I had to do. I said I’m going to  collect their tears, and turn them into stories." Elie talks about how he is going to finish the story of the children. When he says they were crying and crying, this makes the reader/listener feel how terrible and sad his experience was.
