Read this story carefully.
UNDERWATER ADVENTURE

We're going on an underwater adventure. Come on in, the water's fine!

There's a crab! The crab is as big as a dinner plate. But some crabs can be as small as a pea. Its thick, round shell might be as strong as a dinner plate. It is like a coat of armor.

There's a colorful fish! It has so many beautiful colors! The bright patterns aren't just pretty. They make it hard for an enemy to spot a fish among the coral.

There's a seahorse! Can you see it bobbing in the seaweed? Its tail is curled, that means it wants to rest. Let's keep swimming.

Look down—it's a ray! It lies on the sandy seabed. Other rays swim near the top of the ocean. Watch as it flaps its big wings slowly up and down.

There's an octopus! It is also at the bottom of the ocean. It sleeps among the rocks. Its soft body makes it easy to slide into rocks. Rows of strong suckers help an octopus grip the rocks. Many animals rest among the rocks. Rocks are in a coral reef.
Careful! There's a shark! It is swimming silently. It is looking for food. Don't worry—not us. The shark's long, blunt nose sniffs out a snack.

There's a sea turtle! It has probably seen a lot of animals in the ocean. A sea turtle can live for as long as 100 years!

There's a dolphin! It is playing with its friends. Dolphins often play together. Hear that? They are making clicking sounds.

There's a whale! See how it glides through the water? That's because of its smooth, rubbery skin. Its powerful tail also helps.

There are so many wonderful animals underwater. We need to help protect them. Be sure to not throw trash in the oceans.

Time to come up for air! What a wonderful underwater adventure!

ACTIVITY - Answer these questions correctly. Remember to write your answers in sentences.

1. Mention the things you need for an underwater adventure.
2. Mention 5 underwater animals you know.
3. Which underwater animal is your favourite and why?
4. How can we protect underwater animals?
5. Which underwater animal can live for as long as 100 years?

Read this passage carefully.

CARING FOR A PET
Do you have a pet? People all over the world have pets. Would you like to have one? If you could have a pet, what kind would you choose? Maybe you'd like a dog or a cat. Or how about a bird or a fish? Then again, you might want to have a pet that's a little different.

How about a mouse? In Japan many children keep mice for pets. Japanese children like to play with their mice. Some children even teach their mice to dance to music.

Have you thought about a mongoose? In parts of India, children have mongooses for pets. Mongooses love to jump and pounce. Mongooses also help their families keep snakes away.

No matter what kind of pet you have, all pets need to be looked after. Some pets are easy to care for. Other pets need help from their owners. How much help will your pet need?

Just like you, pets need to eat. Most pets need food and water every day. But some fish need food only a few times a week. And pet snakes may need to eat just once every seven days. Some pets eat the same foods you do, other pets eat food you wouldn't touch. Cats seem to like food that is very smelly. Fish eat flakes made of dried worms. Lizards and frogs eat bugs.

Just like you, pets need a place to live. But where do pets stay? Fish and frogs live in tanks with water. Snakes, insects, spiders, toads, and lizards live in tanks without water. Birds live in cages. Guinea pigs and gerbils stay in cages too. Some dogs have their very own houses. Other animals would rather stay with you!

Just like you, pets need to move. Fish and frogs swim. Birds fly. Snakes slither. Rabbits hop. Dogs like to play catch. Hamsters, mice, and rats run around in circles.

Just like you, pets need to keep clean. Many pets do a good job of keeping themselves clean. Cats use their tongues to lick their fur clean. Birds use their beaks to clean and fluff their feathers. Other pets enjoy taking a bath just about as much as you do!

Just like you, some pets need to visit the doctor. A doctor for pets is called a veterinarian, or vet. A vet takes care of animals when they are sick or hurt. Vets also give pets their shots. Some pets wear tags on their collars. These tags may mean that the pets have had their shots.

Pets need food, a safe place to live, exercise, and baths. But they need something else that's even more important. Pets need love!

Activity: Click on the link below to answer the questions in the Comprehension Assessment.
https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=wFzXCTB2rkm-x0n9MrvVAzssTpKAV45Brwnxwb9qCsxUOEJMSlRNUEpZSkNaQVNEVkZCVzczWlkwVS4u
