The Rutgers Learning Centers are free spaces to get extra academic support. You can meet with peer tutors for specific courses, join study groups, work with an academic coach on things like time management or study skills, and get help with writing and presentations. They also run workshops and have online resources to make studying easier. It’s all designed to help you feel more confident and succeed in your classes.

Do your own research about the lab and what they study before reaching out to professors (you can also reach out to the graduate students in these labs!!). Start applying as soon as the Spring of your freshman year, no need to wait (some labs prefer hiring underclassmen!).
