In my experience, I think one of the best way to lower my student' filter is to inicially set up a safe and kind environment by fostering rules through conversations. Also, to know their charateristics and likes, to be familiar with their context. Create a bond is key, I think.

As I said before, I try to share my own experience in learning, both in the past and currently, in French. learning is a great way to remember what it feels like to be a student.

I think it is important to get to know your students well and build up a good environment in the class.
