Based on your opinion, and with the prior context you've experienced in real life, would you say that the narrator is restricted from also showing his true feelings to Beto because of society's "social norms" and the stigmatization towards gays (or patos as said in the short novel), or that he really just isn't sexually attracted to Beto?
