         <description><![CDATA[<div>John Locke was born on August 29, 1632, in England.  Locke received an outstanding education and attended Westminister school and was accepted into University of Oxford to study medicine.  After graduating, he became a highly influential philosopher and physician.  Lord Ashley was an influential person in Locke's life.  The two grew close and he requested for Locke to become his personal physician.  As Ashley's fame grew, Locke's did as well.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Locke's most well-known piece of literature was the book he wrote called Two Treatises of Government. The novel discussed the ideas of a self-government and social contract. This book was very controversial and stirred up a lot of conflict in Europe. Another novel written by Locke was titled An Essay Concerning Human Understanding. It focused on his views of equality and a detailed philosophy of the mind and human thoughts.</div>]]></description>
