During this first week in lesson we discussed the basics of the film and how we would go about the production as a team. Therefore, I thought it would be helpful for me to write down a list of everyone's names and their specific roles in their departments. This should hopefully make things easier for me to contact anyone about specific concerns.

I also made sure to speak to the production manager and my production co-ordinator partner, in order to build a good relationship going forward as we will be working closely together throughout the processes.

In this second week I have aided our location manager in trying to find a good shooting location for the interview room and possibly the scenes in the flat/ apartment. Myself and my partner scouted rooms and potential office spaces in the New Adelplhi building, Allerton, Maxwell and the Newton building. This was really useful when deciphering what would work on screen for this scene. It also helped us to determine the practicality's of shooting in the potential spaces. For example, if there was enough room for the entire cast and crew and if we could move furniture and create more space.

This also aided us in imagining what the props and set department could utilize in each room.

This week I liaised with all departments to ensure them that I would be on hand to assist them at any point during the shoot. This was really useful and helped to break the ice with some people who I did not know as well and I think it will help to create a better atmosphere on set when we come to shoot.

In addition to creating a better report with my fellow peers and group I also communicated with my location manager to see if there was any new enlightenments on where we could film as even though I had scouted locations a week before, we decided we could find different locations that would be better to film in.

I also did some wider research this week which allowed me to understand my role better as a production co-ordinator. ‘The goal, however, is not to visualize to eliminate decisions on the set or to streamline the production process'. (Katz, 2019, p.6). This quote for me helped me to understand that although my work in this project is about managing the crew and cast and aiding other departments, I can still be creative. In my role, I have to be creative with suggesting new ideas and solutions to any issues we may face on the day of filming.

This week I liaised with my production manager and partner to decide what roles and tasks we would be responsible for. I was given the task of making sure that all the risk assessments for the interview scene were sent in time before filming commenced. As we had split our tasks up this made the work load for each of us much less overwhelming and we worked well as a team to ensure that we all had a fair amount of work.

I also watched a video on Youtube about the responsibilities of a production co-ordinator to make sure that I was fulfilling my job correctly and to the best of my ability. 'The production co-ordinator is primarily administrative employee, who carries out a variety of clerical functions.' (Diversity in Cinema Academy, 2022). This ensured me that I was correctly carrying out my job and fulfilling the means of my role.

This week I contacted everyone in their specific departments in an email to remind them that their risk assessments for the interview scene needed to be completed as promptly as possible. To help any confusion I attached the risk assessment in the email and assisted them in where to send their risk assessments once completed as I could not sign them off personally.

This week I made sure to remind everyone that risk assessments for the interview scene were due in as filming was immanent. I had not received confirmation or evidence from some departments that they had been completely and I was concerned that they would not be signed off in time for filming. Therefore I sent out another reminder that they needed to be sent and signed off by the end of the week. This should be helpful in ensuring that shooting can commence and that the production can run smoothly without any set backs or delays.

This week my main focus was on performing as the only days that I was scheduled in for was to act in the film. However, whilst on set and in between takes I observed how my partner was filling in the shot list so that I knew what my job would be for the week after.

I was also on hand to help with the departments if I was needed and watching out for any continuity errors or mistakes that could have been made through the day.

This week I felt I really became a production co-ordinator as it was my turn to get hands on whilst on set and fulfill my role. I drove to set everyday to ensure that I could take back any equipment if needed and help the other departments out in loading equipment. I was on hand if any body needed any drinks or snacks to fuel them throughout the day.

My main role however, was to ensure that I was consistently checking what shot we were currently filming and writing it down in the shooting log. I realised how important this job was as without an accurate shooting log, the editors will not know which shots are useable and it would make their job much more difficult. Therefore, I made sure that my logs were accurate, precise and clear for the editors. 'Given the need for expertise with technology and the need to share the workload both practically and technically, the director needs the production team.’ (Edgar- Hunt, 2010, p.14).

During filming I also had the job of communicating with the public as we were filming in Peel Park, therefore, I had to ensure that I was respectful of the public and kindly asked them to wait when were shooting a certain shot, so they did not disrupt the take. I also communicated with the public when they were allowed to pass through when were not filming. I found this to be a really fun and rewarding job as I felt that I was helping to get a good take.

I continued to do this everyday that I was on set this week.
