Linda is a long-standing member of ASCILITE and has taken on many leadership roles and received several awards.She has over 20 years’ experience working in higher education and has taught in the fields of Education, Business, and IT. Her research focuses on how learning analytics can be used to provide meaningful and timely feedback to educators and students, as well as professional learning for educators in Higher Education.awards. She is currently one of the Lead Editors of AJET and co-leader of the ASCILITE Learning Analytics SIG.

Linda is currently the Associate Director, Learning and Innovation (Business and Law) at Deakin University.

ASCILITE represents both academic and professional staff communities, yet keynote voices often come primarily from academic researchers. It would be valuable to hear from a keynote speaker whose work sits in the professional “third space” like many of the learning designers and other HE professionals who attend ASCILITE.

Richard McInnes is Manager, Educational Design at Adelaide University. He was recently recognised with a Leadership Excellence Award from the Association for Tertiary Education Management. He has published and presented on practice-based learning design and the role of educational design teams in supporting meaningful change in teaching and learning. Having recently navigated one of the largest university mergers in Australia, he could offer valuable insights into leadership, third-space practice, and working in complex institutional environments.

Robert specialises in designing educational escape rooms to engage and motivate students so they want to learn. Robert has won several awards (Vice Chancellors Teaching Award and received an AAUT citation for his escape room research). Robert has presented at several universities across Australia and the UK (Monash, Melbourne, Griffith, Bristol, Bath, Sussex) and has created over 35 escape room scenarios to each everything from programming and digital electronics through to history and geography.

Dr Adrian Stagg (University of Southern Queensland) focuses on communities and ecologies of higher education that promote open education as a way of addressing systemic inequality and building toward a participatory democracy. He's published on whether higher education is educating for the status quo, and how institutions have potentially become compromised as agents of social change. His work refers to empathy as a key trait of human development and explores how practitioner values inform decision-making in learning and teaching practices, especially in constructive deviance (when staff contravene policy but add value to the institution).
