In the video, the boys already have a firm understanding of commitment. One of the boys talks about how he used to live in Calgary, where the closest rink was 45 minutes away. Still, the boy would need to find a ride to the rink every week even if his parents couldn't go. This can be very helpful to First Nations people as it can be very difficult to get off the reserve. Through hockey, different schools and teams can see the players play and can offer scholarships or invite the player to join their team. Also, hockey is something fun to do that can take you mind off of things.
