This road connects the northern suburbs of Perth (Australia) with the small harbor of Fremantle, where Bon Scott (ACDC singer) resides at the time. Way was famous for being the favorite playground of "crazy" steering wheel and handlebars of Western Australia. The Raffles liquor (a bar where a lot of young rock fans and bikers were found) helped many, including dozens of bikers, to die on the Canning Way, especially in the 1970s: hence the nickname that people gave him: "Highway To Hell", "the highway to hell." The bikers and young people who took this roelt felt free, but many died. This song and therefore a hymn to freedom.
