This makes the cell perform it's a necessary tasks. steroidal hormones work directly to the cell and then directly onto the nucleus and onto the DNA.

They are too big enough to go through the cell to change anything. The non-steroidal the hormone attaches to a receptor on the outside of the target cell send the receptor and the hormone come gather and make an enzyme that then goes into the cell is able to do the necessary tasks.
