This has allowed us to include characters that our audience have said they relate to, meaning we have been able to address and attract them to our film. 

When we came up with our initial ideas for our film we had the idea of including horror and mystery themes. To make sure this would appeal to our audience, as part of our research this was one of the questions we asked and during the video interviews the majority replied yes, therefore meaning by including these themes in our film we have been able to attract our audience to our film.

We again looked at the responses we received for the question about relatable characters and took this into consideration whilst creating our characters. This attracts the audience because it keeps them engaged and provided the suspense that our audience are used to seeing in other films of this genre.
Another convention of thriller films that we have used which has allowed us to attract our audience is the story line makes the audience feel scared. We have been able to do this by making our film relatable for our audience through the use of characters, costumes and locations. This means they could have an emotional attachment to our film and then become scared later on in the film as the story line develops.

The music we chose for our opening sequence also adds tension to the second scene of our opening sequence and gives a foreboding feel to it. We have been able to do this by having our opening sequence split into two different scenes with the second providing context as well as having a female lead.
