This activity will consist of students laying on the classroom floor and looking up at projected stars on the ceiling. I will not lead with any information or materials before this activity. Students will be asked to “star gaze” at the projected images for 10 mins. After 10 mins, I will facilitate a class discussion, asking open ended questions regarding space.. I will than ask students to write down three questions they have about space. This diagnostic assessment will allow me the best insight to what prior knowledge my students have regarding space, stars, and the solar system.
