I know I'm not the best viola player ,but I think I can be really reliable in my group. I'm Hoping to be able to expand my music experience and help myself by not being dependent on my other viola classmates. I hope to be able to make myself learn to be independent and not have to constantly ask my peers , classmates, or teacher how to play a specific part. I choose this other difficult piece, Brandenburg, because I wanted to challenge myself by playing a fast piece that had a lot of counting, sixteenth notes, and some key changes. This way, when playing other pieces with similar qualities, I wont have to be struggling as much as I used to.

I'm having lots of trouble playing my sixteenth notes in BRANDENBURG because my fingers get confused when jumping over strings. As a group, were playing fine so far. The cello and violin 1 and cello are synchronizing very well, as well as the bass ,but the other two violins are having a little trouble when playing the sixteenth notes. In Arioso, The violins needed to improve their pick-up note in the beginning and to playing loud. This is suppose to get the audiences attention. We were having contradicting thoughts between me and the bass ,mainly, when discussing where or what we needed to improve based on our playing ,But overall, based on how much help we received and how many times we practiced, were doing very well. ( Our first time playing thru Brandenburg went extremely well, we started to think it wasn't as much as of a challenge as we thought it would be ).

Even though we didn't have a cello , which I like my duo partner in two pieces, we did extraordinary. The Violins managed to play the pick up note in Arioso strong & confident. All our sixteenth notes in Brandenburg weren't wobbly ,but very steady. My solos, which were suppose to be with the cello, didn't go bad. ( except for Arioso, I messed up in the beginning of the melody.)Overall, our performance in the media center went smooth. Something very important that I learned as a musician was that when playing a duo part in a song, you cant always count on your partner on helping you cue in. For Next time, I would like to choose all three pieces, Making them mainly Classical( Like Mozart), an choose my partners.
