When we tested it out, we were correct because the marble was made of metal. Also I noticed that the metal marble was so heavy, it didn’t want to roll down the ruler and kept sliding off before it hit the cup.

The one that traveled the farthest was no sandpaper with 10 pennies. I think we messed something up because the one with no pennies was 38in and the one with pennies was 39in. The one that went the shortest was 25in which was the sandpaper with no pennies. I think we messed something up here because the one with pennies and sandpaper was 28 in.

The sandpaper effected the car because it didn’t go as far as it did without the sandpaper. The texture is really rough made the car go a shorter distance. The texture on the sandpaper was really rough while the texture on the tile was more smooth, making the car travel farther.

We originally thought that the pennies would make it so the car would have a shorter distance. The pennies made the car go faster I guess. It made it go faster because it made it have more power which means it went farther.

I typed even more than last time.

The speed increased as we pulled the elastic band back farther. More force was added to the cart when we pulled back on the elastic band, so more acceleration was used. The cart slowed down when the pennies were added because more mass was being pushed by the elastic band. This tells us that the more mass that is added, the slower the cart will go.

The ruler was angled more on trial one, so the marble accelerated more. Gravity pulled the marble down from the ruler and into the cup. If the marble was heavier or larger, the marble would go down faster because more mass equals more speed. If the cup was larger or heavier, it wouldn’t move as much because the marble wouldn’t have as much impact on the weight it’s hitting.

When we pulled it back on the band, the speed increases. It increased due to it being pulled back, it gave it more power and time to move. If it’s pulled back very little, it makes the cart go very slow.

Because it had more force behind it, it increased the speed of the cart. The fastest was when we had no pennies and went to the second mark. It went 29in. The one where we had no pennies and it went to the first mark went 8in. The speed was 27.88 inches per sec for the second mark and it went 14.81 inches per sec for the first mark.

When we put 10 pennies into the cart, the speed decreased by a lot. The 29in turned into 16in. That’s a big difference! That’s slow! Also the speed for the second mark went from 27.88 inches per sec all the way to 14.15 inches per sec.

This is shorter than normal lol this helps my hands

The force of the first trial had more force. It had more force due to the angle. It accelerated more on the ramp than it did on the second trial. It hit the cup at a faster speed which means that it had more force than the scribe trail.

The role of gravity in this experiment went like this. When the marble went down the ruler, the more that the gravity wanted to pull the ball down. When it was more at an angle, it made the gravity want to pull down the ball even more, creating more acceleration. It increases the speed, making the force stronger, which made the ball hit the cup faster the first trial than the second trial.

Of the ball was heavier, it would go at the same speed, due to the angle being the exact same as usual. The thing that would be different would be the force. Since the ball is heavier, it creates more force behind it, making the force much stronger.

Bonus we decided to do: What if the ball was lighter?
If the ball was lighter, it would have the same speed because the angle, which is pretty similar to the third question. The thing that is different is that the ball would have less force. It would have less force due to the weight of the ball. It if was lighter, than it would do the exact opposite of the heavier one.

Wow my longest one by far! Why did I add an extra bonus I didn’t need to but ok.
