         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 1650 there was Slavery in NEw York. However there was also a good amount of freed people. At the time this colony was ruled by the Dutch, when it became a British colony freed people were treated much worse.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the 1750s, New Jersey continued to change to more strict laws to discourage slave revolts. An act was passed  to put a curfew in place and to stop large groups from meeting. Another act was passed in 1754, that rude or disorderly behavior would result in 30 lashes of the whip.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Massachusetts is a safe place to travel here. In the 1650s, there were a lot of towns and villages in Massachusetts, specifically the Massachusetts Bay Colony. They valued education and religion, most people in the state were free and were able to make a life for themselves there. It was overall a great place to live in in the 1650s.</div>]]></description>

It was a place known for its freedom of religion and succesful farming area. Pennsylvania is a wealthy state because they often traded furs, lumber and wood, so it's a good place to live in in the 1750s.</div>]]></description>
