This party involved making as much independence as possible for one of our very own provinces, Quebec.  This party was officially formed in 1968, and founded on March 11,  1968, and led by Rene Levesque and the Ralliement National, and Gilled Gregoire. The main leader was Jean Francois Lessage. The party was elected before as well. The first time, they actually won 23.5% of the "popular vote" and that was called the, "first election victory" But in 1983, they didnt do as well ad expected, and it was very dissapointing. It was dissapointing because only six PQ people were elected. The Parti Quebecois were mainly a party that were very indepented. They wanted Quebec to not be a part of Canada. They especially didnt want to be a part of Canada, so yhats one of the reasons why they made this party mainlu. In conclusion, they were a protestic party.
