My chiweenie is an absolute loaf. She loves to stiffen up on her back so we'll rub her tummy for hours. My Chihuahua, on the other hand, is a pathetic potato. He's all sorts of Eeyore and loves to lump up on the couch for a fifth or sixth nap. Here is a photo of my precious angels <3

Going on 8 years as an 8th grade ELA teacher. This year I'm department head (omg--totally scary and exciting since it's the first time ever). I'm ESL certified, Special Ed certified, and GT certified. I've recently gotten a distance learning certification from TCEA and I'm a member of a Google tech team on my campus. My dream job is to be a librarian. My current librarian is my favorite, and she was in on my initial interview with the district I work for. She told the principal (after my interview) that she should hire ME as the librarian instead (haha). She's the one who recommended SHSU's LSSL program, and I'm so glad I trusted her advice.

I craft. Creating sparkly stuff makes me happy. This is TOTALLY NOT A SALES PLUG, but I make the custom tumblers (when I have time) for people. I also make t-shirts (for myself, I don't sell them) and paper crafts (THANK YOU SILHOUETTE) when I'm free.

I have a bachelors in English and a Master's in literature from Lamar University in Beaumont. I took 3 upper level classes per semester as a grad student (in person because that's how I learn best) and maintained a 4.0. It was tough, but honestly one of the best experiences of my life. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment, because here I am again in another masters program with only one summer and fall semester as a break. I'm so glad to be a Bearkat!!

Why Cello There!!

My absolute favorite instrument in the ENTIRE WORLD is a cello. Yes I know that sounds absolutely pretentious because, I mean, it kind of is. However, I've loved string instruments since I was a child. The only instrument I'm lucky enough to know how to play is the piano, but even then, my skills aren't fabulous. I'm a COMPLETE Anglophile. I had the lucky chance to go to London, The Cotswold's (there's this adorable tiny town called Chipping Camden that is absolutely precious), Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, and to hug Stonehenge my senior year in High School and it's my life goal to go back!
