Jews also assumed roles as physicians and poets. Jews who became rabbis were generally not thoses who came from Spain, but they were able to help with translations and communication. </title>

<title>The was nothing official concerning the Jews until they had been alluding to their very much enjoyed liberty of worship. The States General appointed a commission to make laws prohibiting Jews from publicly speaking or publishing against Christianity. It also forbade intermarry between the two, but each city was given the chance to make their own regulations about it. The oaths were drawn up in Spanish. If you want to stay safe, just don&#39;t talk negatively about others! </title>

<title>A third congregation was under way in 1618 call &quot;Bet Yisrael&quot;. Soon after, all 3 congregations were consolidated into the fourth by the Jews from Spain and Portugal. This named &quot;Neweh Shalom&quot; the common place of worship in Amsterdam. It was proclaimed, but given warnings to by city authorities who were worried about conflict. Once it was financially stable, a ceremony took place for consecration. A Jewish school called &quot;Ez Hayyim&quot; was also founded around this time.</title>
