Each church has its own council which helps it to make decisions, and members actively meet to vote and discuss decisions. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Baptists believe that their main leader is the Bible/Jesus Christ, though churches do have pastors/deacons and administration.</p></li><li><p>The church is self-governing and completely autonomous. Baptists believe that all people have skills to share the word of God, and ministers are considered equal members of the church, just with special requirements.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>Baptists DO NOT believe that rituals/sacraments are a means of salvation, meaning that they are <strong><em>not required</em></strong> for believers. </p><ul><li><p>Sacraments are seen as simply a means to God's grace, and they are not required for a person to be saved.</p></li></ul></li></ul><p>Baptism: Baptists <strong>do not allow infant baptism</strong>, since they believe that it is for believers who have the ability to choose to follow Christ as their savior, and that baptism is a symbol of this choice. <strong>Baptism is full-immersion</strong> (a person goes fully underwater). Though Baptists do believe in original sin, they <strong>do not believe</strong> that Baptism is a remedy for it.</p><p><br></p><p>Communion (Eucharist): Baptists use juice and <strong>leavened </strong>bread, and communion is done together instead of at a table. Instead of treating communion as a reenactment of Jesus' Last Supper, they <strong>view it as a symbol of their unity</strong> as a community and their love for each other and God.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><p>Both Orthodox and Methodist denominations believe in the doctrine of original sin, which states that human beings are sinful from the day they are born as a result of Adam and Eve's first sin in the Garden of Eden.</p></li><li><p>Both the Catholic and Orthodox denominations have a centralized organization, with the Pope (Catholic) or Head Patriarch (Orthodox) to make the most important decisions for the entire denomination, who resides in a capital city (Constantinople for Orthodox, Vatican City for Catholic).</p></li><li><p>Both Catholic and Methodist denominations believe that acceptance and usage of sacraments is a crucial piece of receiving salvation, and that the sacraments themselves are tools of forgiveness. </p></li><li><p>In both the Methodist and Baptist denominations, individuals churches have their own council or board of members that help to make decisions for the church. However, Methodists do have a more centralized structure as a whole (in comparison to Baptists, who do not have bishops, collectives of churches, etc...). </p></li><li><p>Both Methodist and Baptist denominations place strong focuses on the authority of the Bible, as well as the importance of individual/personal relationships with God. They emphasize commitment and involvement in their communities.</p></li></ol>]]></description>
