It gives me a chance to watch respectful debates which stem from stimulating Qs and learn the etiquette of discussion, debate and disagreement online which hopefully makes me more mindful of these things in real life too.

The more we use social media, the more we experience so the more skilled we get - especially in digital citizenship. Twitter and Facebook Teacher forums have been the best PD of my career. The connections with teachers I will never meet and yet who share their wisdoms, experience and resources, effectively opening their classrooms has been a great way to learn the advantages that technology can offer.
