         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>Women in Ancient Egypt were not required to get married and had the right to a divorce. Many refused offers of marriage. Most married in their early teenage years and brought a dowry into the marriage. Marriages were most commonly arranged between two families. If a women was approved for divorce by the court, she kept her dowry and took a third of the ex-husband's wealth in order to care for her children.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

She lectured to large crowds and taught people of her wisdom, from a non-religious perspective. Because she was seen as a leader to many and was a female, non-Christian, public figure, the bishop, Cyril, had her brutally murdered.</p></li></ul>]]></description>
