My thoughts are that if we could systemically use intersectionality then we would have such a more complex view of people and society.

Intersectionality is something that have been around for a very long time, however, people weren't really sure of how to describe it. This word is something that can make us feel included, and/or considered. Intersectionality can make us go above and beyond when it comes to considering others. They are individuals who have different parts to themselves, but they are only still one.

Intersectionality is a framework that describes the multiple identities that people have and how they come together. I think it is incredibly important because it takes into account all of the identities that we as people have. We are not individual experiences or identities, we are an amalgamation of everything that makes us up. We cannot just forget any part or not claim it, so intersectionality makes us better connect with ourselves and it allows us to understand each other.

I think that the TED talk was very eye opening and emotional, you see how black women are not noticed as much as black men or men in general. I'm still a little bit confused on intersectionality and what it actually means

--"without seeing a problem, we can't solve it". Without seeing the problem and how intersectionality affects others, we overlook and dismiss those who are the most vulnerable in society. I appreciated what Professor Crenshaw discussed. I like the term intersectionality because it is difficult to discuss one prejudice//without discussing another.

Me personally, I feel like more people in society need to learn and understand this term. In that way, we would be able to understand how people that fall under the category of race, sexuality, or gender, experience intersectionality not because of one, but multiple factors.

The way I see intersectionality now is not confining a person in a box, because nobody is a singular thing. We all are so different and once we realize this and take into account the various factor that make us who we are, we will be able to see past the box and have inclusivity.

I think that if we used intersectionality it would help us understand why people use different parts of their identity to help solve or contribute to the discrimination. I really liked how Professor Crenshaw discussed how the different parts of our identities, and how they all come together. I think intersectionality is really important because we have to realize people can have multiple identities that affect their lives.

I look at intersectionality like a mosaic artwork, where various pieces of different shapes, colors, and sizes come together to create a complex interrelated whole, highlighting the interconnectedness nature of social identities and systems of oppression. I like how Crenshaw added, "If you're standing in the path of multiple forms of exclusion, you're likely to get hit by both," emphasizing the idea that experiencing intersecting forms of discrimination places individuals at a heightened risk of facing multiple barriers and injustices simultaneously, exacerbating their marginalization and hindering their ability to fully participate in society.
