I wanted to be a teacher to help young minds succeed in life.

I wanted to be a teacher right after I taught my son to read. He couldn't do this thing, and he suddenly could. It was amazing. I stayed in this profession because of the students. The ones who think they can't possibly make it. The ones who have given up. The moment THOSE students walk the stage at graduation; that's why I stay.

Deep down I always knew I wanted to be an educator, but it took a little time to realize it. I have always enjoyed working with students and just wanted to be like the teachers who made school worthwhile for me, and give that same energy back to more students.
