1) To me, white privilege means that you get certain advantages or powers over other people not because you earned them, but solely because of your skin color
2) A privilege that I have is that I have a really strong support system and access to a lot of great resources through my Church because of my religion
3) I've had people make a lot of nasty assumptions about me because of my religion
4) Understanding intersectionality means that we can be better aware of if we have privilege over someone and work towards evening the playing field. Understanding intersectionality also helps us to stop making unfair assumptions because we know that there are many factors, both visible and unseen, that lead to discrimination or privilege. Someone could be assumed to be privileged because of their race, but might have other factors in their lives that lead to them being underprivileged.

1. white privilege to mean is when the whole population of white people overall have more of an advantage then other races do just because the color of their skin.
2. an example of a privilege I have had is that I had volunteered at the job i have over the summer years previously and they knew me well but I still had to apply and interview to get the job I didn't just get it because. Also living in Sammamish a very nice city is another advantage I have.
3. I did fencing when I was younger and although some people thought that was cool others thought it was weird because it was mostly a guy sport and I had lots of guys in my fencing class.
4. it helps us know how differences of a person effects them socially and mentally. It also brings us aware of the fact that not everyone has the same privileges' you do based on the color of their skin, religion, class, etc.

I feel like the city of Sammamish itself is quite privileged? I mainly think this because, we live on a plateau where everything is all in one small space making everyone crammed all together. I am not on the privileged side of Sammamish if I am being completely honest.
3. When I was in middle school, I was put into a group of kids where everyone I want to say was privileged and knew each other fairly well, whilst I was left out a majority of the project and barely contributed.
4. I feel like having a brief understanding of this makes everyone's perspective a lot broader than it originally was.
