As technology is becoming more integrated into the class room. I fell that it is important that the teacher keeps a close eye on what websites the students are on. When the students are all on the same websites it is easier to monitor. I found this really cool website called Edmodo. It is like Facebook but is protected where only the students with a code can be a part of your class. This helps from having outside predators from being a threat to the students. It is also a great place for the students to find all of their assignments in one place that way they are not browsing multiple websites.

When teachers do lessons or activities online, they can make them private. This means only the students with a link to the material can access the information. Keeping this information within the class will protect students.

I think this a valid concern. Teachers should begin with a lesson on internet safety and how to be responsible online. Even after that, teachers should be conscious of what technology they should incorporate into their lessons. Websites such as Edmodo are going to be much safer than sites such as Facebook. Look for technology that is dedicated to teaching, they are usually heavily monitored and are run by other teachers who want students to succeed.
