Caesar uses the word 'copia' meaning supply to suggest how horrifying the human sacrifices are, as the victims are dehumanised and treated like animals that are also sacrificed. Furthermore he uses 'etiam' the adverb meaning 'even, also' to express how it is unnecessary to sacrifice innocent people when the supply of criminals has run out, burning them in a sadistic, inhumane way, indicating his disproval.

The use of the adjective ‘etiam’ conveys the shock of Caesar because he emphasises how unusual the practice of the Druids is. The imagery of ‘circumventi’ makes the scene more vivid and therefore more horrific for the Roman audience who, in general, were against human sacrifice. The verb ‘pereunt’ is at the end of the sentence to show finality of death, the readers can understand the seriousness of human sacrifice.
