Mashpee Schools currently start between 7:30 and 8:30. Class starts at 7:30 for the middle and high school, while elementary schools start between 8:15 to 8:30. What do you think?

As a sports star, I have many complaints about school starting later. If the school started later, than we would have less time for practice, and we would have to stay later for practice, delaying homework and eating time. Practice could end anywhere from 4:30 to 6:30, then athletes would get home/go to bed late.

Students are supposed to be having 60 minutes of exercise every day, but with the new times they would have even LESS time to go outside and get the right amount of exercise so they can be healthy. Health experts have also proven that students need both the right amount of exercise and sleep.

It can be bad to have a earlier school time and can also wake up early to because the person might drive to school and they might crash because of the loss of focus and to the right amount of sleep that kids need so if we go in earlier then there may be problems. It could cause sleep deprivation and may cause teens to lose control of their bodies and fall asleep during school hours. It can cause procrastination. Early risers may not have time to do homework orstay after school because they didn’t get the right amount of sleep. If people that are early risers have to go to sleep earlier than usual. Early risers usually go to sleep earlier than others, and after school they may and may not watch their younger brothers or sisters. Early risers have to find another time to wake up later so then they make it on time for school, they also might still wake up at the same time as when they did before school started later this is because your head is used to waking up at a certain time. It causes problems to teens who help watch their siblings after school which causes a problem because they have homework and then watching their siblings. The parents schedule can be affected because they have to be at school on a certain time and they can’t get their kids to school if it’s putting them on the bus or getting driven to school.
